Disclaimer: this is for entertainment purposes only. I am not responsible for my picks if you are silly enough to take these seriously.
DET @ ATL – DET
CIN @ BAL – BAL
I can’t believe the NFL has decided to recognize Cincy’s receiver Chad Johnson’s legal name change to Chad Ocho Cinco. This is easily the stupidest sports story of the year. What do YOU think?
SEA @ BUF – SEA
There’s a theory that when a team has a ceremony for someone, the home team loses. Kevin Everett will be honored while attending Buffalo’s season-opener against Seattle on Sunday, a year after the former Bills tight end sustained a severe life-threatening spinal cord injury. (from NFL.com). Yeah, I’ll go with it.
NYJ @ MIA – NYJ
I want Jim Rome’s dream of an 0-16 team to come true this year.
KC @ NE – NE
Yeah, the Pats are favored by 14 1/2 (source: http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/las-vegas/) so this isn’t a hard pick.
TB @ NO – TB
I was addicted to the ‘net during Gustav, and am happy to see that NO was spared, but I think the team will suffer this week from their discombobulated practice schedule.
STL @ PHI – PHI
HOU @ PIT – PIT (PIT plus over, per the bf over my shoulder. Take it up with him when it’s PIT and under)
JAC @ TEN – TEN
JAC might be distracted with the shooting of Richard Collier (http://www.jaguars.com/news/article.aspx?id=7201)
DAL @ CLE – DAL
CAR @ SD – I’m a Panthers fan, but I have to go with SD, unfortunately. The Chargers are such a good team, and with Carolina’s Steve Smith being suspended for two games, this is not going to be a fun game to watch. I am really glad the Panthers have Moose (Muhsin Muhammad) back from Chicago (”where wide receivers go to die” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhsin_Muhammad) and Jake is healthy. Look for them to do better this year, but just not against SD. I’ll still be rooting for them.
ARI @ SF – ARI
CHI @ IND – IND
MNF double-header
MIN @ GB – GB
Time will tell if GB made a mistake letting go of Favre. What do you think?
DEN @ OAK – OAK
Darren McFadden is going to be a stud for this team. All of us Raiders fans are still in a vigil for the owner to retire/step down/keel over so we can win some games.
